Reporters learned from the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce that the 2024 China (Yunnan)-Vietnam (Lao Cai) Economic and Trade Cooperation Talks were held in Hekou Yao Autonomous County recently.
Representatives from the Yunnan Provincial Department of Transportation, China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture Commerce Bureau, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Commerce Bureau, Hekou Customs, Lao Cai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment Department, Foreign Affairs Department and other departments attended the meeting.
The Chinese side reviewed the achievements made by Yunnan Province and Lao Cai Province in economic and trade cooperation since the 2023 talks, and hoped that the two sides would make good use of the existing mechanisms, strengthen industrial cooperation, promote the circulation of high value-added commodities, deepen cross-border e-commerce cooperation, promote agricultural product trade, promote the normalization of road-rail combined transport, accelerate the construction of cross-border railways and cross-border bridges, and effectively promote local economic and trade cooperation to make new progress. Vietnam looks forward to continuing to promote access for more animal and plant products, continuing to implement customs facilitation measures for agricultural and aquatic products, deepening cooperation on smart ports, and effectively promoting mutual benefit and win-win results for both sides.
During the talks, Yunnan and Vietnam signed a memorandum of talks, and the Wenshan Prefecture Commerce Bureau signed an economic and trade cooperation agreement with the Lao Cai Province Industry and Trade Department.
