SEOUL FORWARD : Your Next Business Destination Roadshow is being held in Hong Kong. The event is organized by the City of Seoul and hosted by Invest Seoul, on June 11, 2024, at the Hotel Alexandra Hong Kong. Approximately 100 attendees are expected to participate. The roadshow aims to attract global companies to Seoul and promote the investment environment of Seoul.
The Seoul of Seoul plans to continue its effort to attract global companies, targeting major hub-cities in Asia. Starting with Hong Kong, the city will host another roadshow in Singapore in the second half of the year to promote its investment environment and continuously discover companies that are interested in expanding to Seoul.
The ‘Seoul Forward’ event begins with attendee registration, followed by introductions to the City of Seoul and Invest Seoul, a promotional video about the city, opening remarks, and a welcome address. There will be keynote speeches on the economic and business prospects of Seoul and success stories of companies entering Seoul. Additionally, an MOU signing ceremony will be held to strengthen cooperation between Seoul and global companies.
○ The keynote speech will be delivered by John Kim, a foreign attorney at Dentons Lee, the Korean office of the world’s largest global law firm Dentons, who will explain Seoul’s noteworthy investment environment and share examples of major global companies entering Seoul.
○ Invest Seoul, the dedicated foreign investment agency, will introduce investment incentives and support programs for foreign-invested companies expanding to Seoul.
This roadshow is not only aimed at discovering companies interested in entering Seoul but also features practical content designed to turn their interest into actual investments by providing expert consultations.
○ Experts from Shin & KIM (law firm Sejong), Dentons Lee, Hyesung Accounting Corporation, and Kangnam Labor Law Firm will provide consulting on the legal systems to acknowledge for entering Seoul, giving better understanding of the process.
○ Additionally, experts from Kookmin, IBK, Shinhan, and Woori banks are participating to offer consultations regarding investment declarations, foreign exchange remittances, and future dividend remittances required for foreign investments.
The event is co-organized with the local partner, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), and is expected to be a meaningful occasion to promote Seoul as a major city in Asia. It is anticipated that more global companies will expand to Seoul and strengthen cooperative relationships.
