From January to May, Kazakhstan’s economic growth rate was 4.5%

According to the Kazakhstan website, from January to May this year, Kazakhstan’s economic growth rate was 4.5%.

On June 13, Kazakhstan’s Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantirov said at a government work conference: “According to the data of the National Statistical Office, the economy of Kazakhstan grew by 4.5 percent in the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year. The real economy grew by 3.6% and the service sector by 4.9%. All major sectors showed positive trends, with construction, trade, and information and communications all showing high growth.”

Investment in fixed assets grew by 17.2 percent. The most significant growth was in the transportation and warehousing sector, at 56.1%; The agricultural sector increased by 30.8%; The industrial sector grew by 15.7 percent.

“In the regional context, the fastest growth is in Turkestan, Mangystau, Kzir Orda and Kostanai.” Alibek Kuantirov added.

“From January to May this year, real estate development exceeded 5.5 million square meters, an increase of 15.4 percent over the same period last year. Cities such as Shymkent, Almaty and Astana have the highest rate of real estate starts.” Alibek Kuantirov said.
