Based on comprehensive French media reports, Chinese automaker BYD has realized its dream of “conquering France.”
Byd, which made its debut at the Paris International Motor Show last fall and entered France in June this year under the condition of qualifying for French ecological subsidies, has not only worked hard on the cost performance of high-end electric models, but also launched the Dolphin small electric sedan priced at only 28,990 euros, lower than the price of similar models in France and Europe.
French media pointed out that BYD has a strong chance of winning in the competition for affordable electric vehicles. One is that BYD is the world’s third-largest battery maker after China’s Ningde Times and South Korea’s LG. Second, BYD has established a distribution and after-sales network before selling cars to reassure customers, and its goal is to open more than 20 points of sale with partners by 2023 and more than 100 by 2025. In addition, BYD is not satisfied with exporting cars to Europe, and plans to build factories in Europe.
