Some of Jiangsu’s signature dishes will be featured at a food, culture and art festival at the UNESCO headquarters from June 23 to 30.
The festival is jointly organized by the UNESCO Community Association (UCA) and the French-Chinese Center for Cultural and Artistic Exchange. Leading up to the event, a variety of exquisite dishes of unique style of Suzhou cuisine and some traditional banquets were displayed in Suzhou.
Representative dishes include a culture-centric banquet from Suzhou’s Wumenrenjia restaurant, as well as banquets featuring Huaiyang cuisine, Taihu Lake crab and the theme of family reunion from other Jiangsu cities.
More than 30 countries and regions will participate in this festival. After a rigorous selection starting in March of this year, 17 companies from Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Guizhou, and other provinces have been chosen for various categories such as Chinese cuisine, tea, and liquor.
