At the China-Asean Emerging Industries Forum in 2023, the deputy general manager of Chery International Indonesia Branch introduced Chery’s relevant strategy in ASEAN, which will set up factories in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand as ICE/PHEV/BEV production bases to achieve model complementarity and complementary advantages, and achieve full coverage of models in the ASEAN region.
Since Chery Automobile entered the Malaysian market in 2005, it has launched a number of models to Malaysia, including A1, QQ, Tiggo, B14, H13, etc. In 2008, Chery Group and Malaysian car seller Arado formally signed a joint venture to jointly produce Chery brand cars.
Currently, Chery has more than 50 directly-operated stores and franchised stores in Malaysia. Its sales and service network has covered the entire country, making it the number one Chinese car dealer in Malaysia in terms of annual sales.
