据俄罗斯卫星通讯社sputniknews报道，美国疾病控制与预防中心（CDC）称，疫苗应能在一定程度上对奥密克戎新冠病毒变体提供防护。
该监管机构的声明称：“现有疫苗将提供针对因‘奥密克戎’引起的严重疾病的一定防护水平。接受加强剂的人拥有更高的防护水平。”
此前据悉美国已记录到首例奥密克戎毒株病例。11月22日，这名游客从南非回到美国，11月29日送检，结果呈阳性。他正在自我隔离，所有密切接触者的检测结果均为阴性。此人接种过疫苗，其症状轻微。
