据俄罗斯卫星通讯社sputniknews报道，美国国家过敏症和传染病研究所所长福奇表示，美国出现首例“奥密克戎“毒株感染病例，一名去过南非旅游者确诊，他接种过疫苗，没有出现严重症状。
在白宫举行的新闻发布会上福奇说：“11月22日，这名游客从南非回到美国，11月29日送检，结果呈阳性。他正在自我隔离，所有密切接触者的检测结果均为阴性。此人接种过疫苗，其症状轻微。”
福奇表示，美国首例“奥密克戎“毒株感染病例出现在加利福尼亚州。
