According to the\u00a0<em>Report on the\u00a0<\/em><em>MICE<\/em><em>Industry\u00a0<\/em><em>Competitiveness Indexes in Chinese Cities 2023<\/em>, Chengdu ranked fifth overall and fourth in terms of professional exhibition competitiveness index.<\/p>\n<p>The competitiveness index reflects the development and potential of\u00a0MICEs\u00a0in Chinese cities. In 2023, numerous internationally renowned exhibitions, such as the 108th National Sugar and Wine Fair and the 19th Western China International\u00a0Fair, were held in Chengdu,\u00a0not only showcasingthe city\u2019s\u00a0industrial characteristics, but also\u00a0driving its\u00a0development.<\/p>\n<p>The competitiveness\u00a0of MICE industry in Chengdu comprises\u00a0three aspects: balanced development of exhibitions and conferences, integration of industrial characteristics,\u00a0as well as\u00a0internationalization and branding.\u00a0Responding to the shift of MICE economy from\u00a0rapid\u00a0growthto\u00a0high-quality development, the industry\u00a0aims at\u00a0diversified\u00a0development\u00a0such as \u201cMICE+\u201d and \u201c+MICE\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A\u00a0person in charge of Chengdu Expo Bureau stated\u00a0that,as\u00a0the\u00a0pioneer of\u00a0&#8220;exhibition-city integration&#8221; in China,\u00a0the city\u00a0fully leveraged\u00a0the role of\u00a0MICEs in connecting production and consumption, supply and demand,\u00a0as well as\u00a0international and domestic\u00a0markets, established a coordination\u00a0mechanism\u00a0between the industry and\u00a0with relevant municipal departments, districts (cities) and counties,\u00a0thus\u00a0promoting the integration, symbiosis and mutual empowerment of exhibitions and\u00a0the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>On Nov. 1st, 2024, China\u2019s Urban\u00a0MICE\u00a0Industry Cooperation Conference &amp; Releaseof\u00a0MICEIndustry\u00a0Competitiveness Indexesin Chinese Cities were held in Chengdu.
